1. Why have some countries donated more in aid to the victims of Typhoon Haiyan than others?

There can be several reason for the international donations all around the world.

• Altruism
• Religion
• Economical relationship
• Investments
• Market interest
• Political relationship
• Demonstrating good image to the people not only in the Philippines but also in the world
• Resources
• Workforce

2. How does the aid being sent to victims of Typhoon Haiyan represent the following:

altruism: Lots of countries, corporations, NGOs, groups, and individuals come up with aids to the specific subjects. 

economic interests: Some of the countries with lots of investment on the Philippines want to recover the economy of the country. In addition, some resources, workforce, and geographical characteristics could have been benefitted the countries other than the Philippines.  

neo-colonialism:As the other countries give hands for aid, those countries will be able to have control upon the Philippines. The Philippines, who need help for recovery of the country, will rely and further submit themselves the other countries providing aids.

*How does the devastation brought from Typhoon Haiyan make you feel?

I can hardly imagine those people who struggle with the problem of life or death. Some people worry what to eat, what to wear, and where to sleep. As a person who lives in the Philippines where the Typhoon Haiyan happened, I found the need of giving back to the society where I belong to. 


*How should people prepare for and respond to disasters like Typhoon Haiyan?


People should have some room in the underground so that they  can easily evacuate or store the most basic necessities during the evacuation period. Government should corporate with local, national, and international committees in order to get the donations and services.

*Why do people live in vulnerable areas?

People live in vulnerable areas since the area is more affordable than the other areas.
